BIRTH CERTIFICATE FROM UKRAINE
If you or your parents or ancestors were born in Ukraine, and you are currently unable to come personally to get a copy of the birth certificate (birth record) from Ukraine, we will be happy to help you with that. Our company is called Express Translation and Legal Agency and it is located at 48 Doroshenka Street in Lviv, Ukraine.
We offer translations, apostille, and retrieving of various records from Ukrainian civil registry offices and other public agencies for our clients worldwide. We provide services for Ukrainian immigrants, expats, and any individuals possessing a valid ID and having the right to request that document.
HOW IT WORKS
Who can order a birth certificate from Ukrainian official bodies?
First of all, we can only provide services to the persons who want to get their own birth record(s) or for close relatives (parents or siblings) who are entitled to request them under applicable Ukrainian law.
Please let us know the date of birth and the place of birth. Afterwards you will need to sign an agreement with our lawyer (fully online) and the lawyer will submit a request to the Civil Registry. If the record exists, we will obtain a birth certificate or official extract for you.
Which birth records are available?
Birth records registered starting from 1948 onwards are generally available in the Ukrainian Civil Registry Office (RACS). Records created before 1948 are usually kept in state archives, not in the civil registry system, and require a separate archival request. Once an archival record has been obtained, the relevant entry can be created or restored in the Civil Registry, allowing an official birth certificate to be issued (as shown below).
What is a birth extract in Ukraine?
A birth extract contains the same information but is issued on white paper form (not blue as a traditional birth certificate). However, it has the same legal force and includes the seal and signature of Civil Registry officials, and it can be officially apostilled. If the person is deceased, or if a child is requesting a document for a parent, an official birth extract can be issued instead of a traditional certificate, in accordance with Ukrainian regulations.
